Chocolate Hazelnut Cupcakes

A delicious chocolate cupcake filled with ganache and a yummy buttercream!

Another cupcake recipe coming at you. I've loved using hazelnut butter to help encourage the "nutella" flavours and it pairs perfectly with my chocolate cupcakes. Next time I might just add the hazelnut butter to the middle instead of with the chocolate to make them more gooey, but I'll leave that to you to decide. You could also add chocolate to the buttercream too if you need a more rich flavour.

Prep: 10 minutes
Cook: 15 minutes
Serves: 12 cupcakes


Ganache in the middle
150g Dark chocolate 
6-7 tbsp Hazelnut butter
250g Vegan Butter
400-500g Icing sugar
4 tbsp Hazelnut butter
Hazelnuts topping optional


✿First make the cupcakes using my chocolate cupcake recipe. Leave to cool whilst you make the buttercream.
✿Add the butter to a bowl and using an electric mixer beat the butter until smooth and creamy. Add the hazelnut butter and beat again.
✿Gradually add the icing sugar until it has doubled in size and is fluffy. The amount will be dependant on taste.
✿Once the cupcake have cooled you can core them. Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave in 20 second intervals, stirring in-between. Once it has melted stir in the hazelnut butter till combined.
✿Add about 2 tsp into each cupcake middle.
✿Pipe a swirl of buttercream onto each cupcake and then top with hazelnuts. Enjoy!
