Mixed Berry Smoothie Bowl

A refreshing smoothie bowl filled with delicious berries!

The trend for these smoothie bowls is just amazing, like why drink the smoothie when you can have it in a bowl with LOTS of toppings?! My favourite things to top have to be granola (essential) coconut and all the fruits. I'll admit I'm not the best at making smoothie bowls, it's a learning curve for me trying to get that texture and consistency right. You know how I mean, the thick ice-cream-like smoothie bowls people are making that look soooo good! Comparisons aside this smoothie bowl I have for you here is a good start for people who need a basic recipe to get you going.
Super easy to make, just throw everything in a blender and you have a beautiful breakfast in less than no time. I like to have mine in the summer on a warm morning to cool me down :) Not that it gets too hot here in the UK but on the occasion it does, these really help. Can make a great dessert too!

I did add some berry powder to get that purple colour and it has lots of healthy nutrients too but this isn't necessary so you can leave it out.

Recipe

Prep: 5 minutes
Cook: N/A
Serves: 1 bowl

Ingredients

100g Mixed frozen berries
2tsp Bioglan Superberries Powder
1 Frozen banana - frozen into small chunks
1tbsp Almond butter or peanut butter
50ml Water or milk
Topping suggestions
Granola
Berries
Chia seeds
Coconut

Method

✿Remove the frozen fruit from the freezer to soften up about 5 minutes. This makes it easier to blend a bit more especially if you're blender isn't that powerful.
✿Then place all ingredients into the blender and blend till combined. Add more liquid if you need. My blender isn't that great so I did need to stop and stir the mixture around - the banana I find the toughest to blend smooth but this is essential for a creamy consistency!
✿Once smooth, pour into a bowl and add your favourite toppings. Enjoy!
